Diagnostic/Identification Services

CSU Extension in Jefferson County offers a Plant Diagnostic Help Desk. Formerly known as the Jefferson County Plant Clinic, the volunteers and staff that run the Diagnostic Help Desk have specialized training in identifying plant diseases and insects. To contact the help desk for questions or to get virtual help with diagnosis or identification, email: plantclinic@jeffco.us or call: (303)271-6627. Our services and their fees are summarized below:

Anything our plant diagnostic team cannot identify will be sent to the State Plant Diagnostic Clinic at CSU SPUR, with client consent. Any testing done by SPUR will be an additional cost.

Commercial samples or samples requiring culturing or advanced diagnostic services should be sent to CSU’s Plant Diagnostic Clinic, located at CSU Spur in Denver, CO. To contact their lab directly, call (970) 491-6950 or email csuplantlab@colostate.edu.
