4-H Mentoring Program Coordinator (CSU) Part Time, .5 FTE, $18.5-19.5K
The Extension Program Coordinator for the National Mentoring Program (NMP) supports, facilitates, and organizes the mentoring program for 60 youth at three sites in Jefferson County. This is a grant-funded part-time (20 hours per week) position. The key responsibilities of this position include recruiting and retention of at-risk youth to participate in the 4-H National Mentoring Program; providing a community-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education programs with a caring adult mentor to serve at-risk youth populations with the goals of increasing youth social competency, family relationships and academic success. This youth mentoring program focuses on instruction in emerging technologies to learn basic life skills and ready themselves for the workforces. Additionally, it provides mentors with an opportunity for community engagement.

The Extension Agent will provide leadership and guidance in the development, delivery, and evaluation of Extension horticulture, Plant Diagnostics and Integrated Pest Management (IPM), plant pathology and food system programs. The person will have knowledge of horticulture principles, plant pathology and diagnostics, plants, trees, insects, and urban food systems.
