Jeffco CSU Extension Advisory Committee Applications Open July 8th, 2024

Our office is seeking new members to join our advisory committee!

This member will serve as a liaison between the citizens of Jefferson County, the Board of County Commissioners and CSU. They will advise the county commissioners and CSU Extension staff on needs for educational outreach in the county and share information about Extension programs with county citizens.

Interested applicants will need to complete an application no later than July 22nd at 5pm; applications open tomorrow, July 8th.

About the CSU Extension Advisory Committee

The committee is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. There are seven seats on the committee with three-year appointments. CSU Extension believes in the importance of meeting needs of the community. The Advisory Committee provides input to staff about community needs. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of January, April, July, and October from 9-10:30 am. 

About

The Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners established the Jefferson County Colorado State University Extension Advisory Committee (CSU Advisory Committee) in 1961. The major responsibilities of the committee are to:

a. Understand the core program areas of the Colorado State University Extension in Jefferson County.

b. Assist in identifying the needs and concerns of the community and county related to natural resources, horticulture, youth development and family and consumer services.

c. Provide input to CSU Extension Director regarding the development and implementation of educational programs and priorities within CSU Extension’s expertise.

d. Suggest resources and delivery methods to address identified priorities.

e. Serve as liaison among the citizens of Jefferson County, the Board of County Commissioners and CSU Extension.

f. Communicate the benefits and impacts of CSU Extension programs and services with decision makers and citizens.
