Jefferson County Plant Diagnostic Clinic

The Jefferson County Plant Diagnostic Clinic is OPEN, and is accepting DROP-OFF and MAIL-IN samples. Please email pictures to plantclinic@jeffco.us with any questions or concerns you may have on plants and/or lawns.

Drop-off Procedure:
Clients can bring completed diagnostic forms (found below, on this page), or complete the forms in our office.  Our office is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

Mail-in Procedure:

Wrap plant samples loosely in newspaper or paper towels, then in a plastic bag before packing in a box with additional paper or plastic packing

Who We Are

CSU Extension/Jefferson County Plant Diagnostic Clinic consists of paid staff and volunteers with specialized training in plant problem diagnosis. The facility is equipped with microscopes and other diagnostic tools for fungal and bacterial culture; some virus testing and pine wilt nematode detection.

  • Identify landscape weeds and plants

  • Provide information on pesticide alternatives
