The Jefferson County Extension office is pleased to announce that registration is going well for ENOR Environmental Discovery Camp’s 44th year. ENOR day camps are unique as the focus is environmental education and youth development. Each day the curriculum highlights unique environmental and social themes that guide learning.
Sharon Moore, the 4-H Camp Coordinator commented that, “In 2016 ENOR received a grant from HughesNet which allowed the purchase of 20 new GPS units, high-tech binoculars, and water testing equipment to advance the environmental education offering for campers.”
Each day campers participate in a variety of small group activities directed by a camp staff educator. Campers are taken on hikes at local parks and open spaces within their groups to learn about ecology, sustainability, Colorado history, and teamwork.
The camps are divided by grade level, providing curriculum specific for students rising into the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades in the fall of 2018.
- Woodpecker’s Hollow – Critter Camp – 3rd graders
- Owl’s Roost – 4th graders
- Eagle’s Nest – 5th graders
- Falcon’s Aerie – 6th graders
The 4-H Summer day camps run Monday through Friday throughout June and July. To learn more about the 4-H Summer Day Camps, please click “4-H Summer Camps” on http://jeffcoextension.org, or register at https://enor.campium.com.
